Winter Wedding and IsaDora – Bridal make-up in Nepal

Friday, December 18th, 2009

roseIts that time of the year in Nepal when the winds blow cold from all direction, when people walk around clad in warm woolens and it is that time of the year in Nepal when most single people tie the knot. There is indeed something special about weddings during winter months and the first thing to mention is the undeniable warm and fuzzy feeling about the atmosphere. Bonfires, that extra coat and shawl over one’s shoulder and the hot toddy’s, vodka limes, cognacs sliding down one’s throat warming up the insides are so much better appreciated in a winter wedding that in the wedding during the sweltering heat of the summers.

More importantly in a winter wedding, the make-up that adorns the face of the bride stays brilliantly intact without having to smudge compact powder often to soak up the oil and the sweat specially when bridal make-up in this part of the world is all about warm heavy colours. Thick concealing foundations, dark eye-liners, eye shadows sporting darker shades that makes the eyes look bigger, lash boosting black mascaras that would make the bride look more demure and appealing. Visibly bright rouge to enhance the colour of her cheeks, dark or bright red lipstick amplifying the lips to go with her intricately designed sari in red. Lastly, an over all touch either with a light bronzer or sheer shimmers making that face look angelic! Thus one can see that bridal make-up for Nepali weddings are significantly about darker heavier colours which transforms an ordinary face into a picture perfect radiant face. Knowing that it is a once in a lifetime experience, which bride would want to look ordinary?

IsaDora has a huge assortment of make-up that would be most instrumental in transforming every ordinary face into a ravishingly beautiful one. Another enticing facet of IsaDora Nepal is that we not only sell bridal and regular make-up, we also do a make-over for our customers. As far as bridal make-up is concerned, once the bridal assortment has been picked at IsaDora store, our trained beauticians offer bridal make-up free of cost at the bride’s residence.

For this winter wedding season, we at IsaDora have hand-picked a bridal hamper for basic bridal make-up keeping the requirement of the Nepalese bride in mind. Our assortment consists of two hampers, one for a lighter skin tone and the other for a darker skin tone. The bridal make-up sitting with IsaDora Nepal comprises of our make-up artist applying IsaDora High Performance Foundation (02 Vanilla Beige for a lighter skin tone and 06 Soft Coffee for a darker skin tone) on a thoroughly cleansed face. The High Performance Foundation speaks for its name as it delivers high performance adding a perfect texture to your skin and with a SPF of 20, it protects while it enhances your skin tone. The foundation is applied by IsaDora foundation brush which is specially designed for smooth application and for a uniform spread over the entire face. The brush is perfect for reaching out into the nooks and corners of the nose, eyelids and for laying a layer over the creases. Once the foundation is carefully laid, the skin is left for a short while to let the foundation soak in. This is followed by eye make-up for which we have picked the Bohemian Rhapsody eye shadow palette (55) for its rich dark colours, Colourmatic Eye Pen (21black) for the lower lids, Water proof Glossy Eyeliner (40 Black) and finally Flashy Curl Mascara. After the eyes have been embellished by applying make-up giving maximum effect, its time for the glow in the cheeks for which we have picked rouge stick to give the perfect finish with a glowing tint. Our colourmatic lip contour gives a perfectly contoured lip and our perfect moist lipstick moisturizes the lips making that smile stretch across the face. Our shades (111) water rose and (182)summer red have specially been picked for the Nepalese bride. Compact powder is dabbed on from time to time to soak excess oil or shine. Finally finger nails are brought to life with wonder nail polish shades summer red and winter red that looks fantastic and very bridal on the bride’s henna decorated fingers.

By the time the last touches are made, the girl next door is transformed into a dazzling beauty ready to launch herself into the most important day of her life. Once again lights are lit in a cold winter evening, tables are laid in the restaurant hired, people flock inside the warmth of the wedding hall, comfort zone is minimum with people rubbling shoulders in a comfortably pleasant atmosphere, once again vodkas and rums do the trick and once again people stare in awe at the most perfect bride who is slowly led into the seating chamber.
